HTS fires on two people in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, two individuals were wounded after being fired on by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) during a raid by the latter’s militants in the town of Deir Hassan, in northwest Syria, in search of wanted people.

An exclusive source, which preferred to be unnamed for security reasons, told North Press, “Both the wounded are among the wanted people for the HTS, and they were arrested and accompanied, along with five others, by the HTS under the charge of targeting a security patrol of the HTS a month ago.”

The source added that the wounded were transferred to a hospital in the town of Dana west of Aleppo under strict monitoring by the HTS General Security Apparatus, and then they were transferred to the 106 prison in the town of Sarmada north of Idlib for investigation.

Deir Hassan witnesses successive arrests by the HTS under the pretext of organizing protests against it on the back of these arrests launched against residents of the region and the residents of the surrounding camps.

The HTS, rebranded in 2017, controls the city of Idlib and western Aleppo Governorate, under the guise of the Salvation Government.
