Turkey deports 47 refugees to Hasakah’s Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Turkish authorities deported 47 people, including 15 women, to Syria through the unofficial Ras al-Ain border crossing, at the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria, marking the fifth deportation in July.

A source told North Press, “Turkish authorities deported 47 Syrian refugees, including 15 women with their children, through the Ras al-Ain border crossing. They were then transferred to a security center of the Turkey-backed Military Police in the city to verify their data.”

The deportees are still in detention and their mobile phones and personal documents were confiscated, according to the source.

Turkish authorities have deported 273 Syrian refugees this month through the Ras al-Ain and Tel Abyad border crossings in northeast and north Syria respectively, despite possessing temporary protection ID cards (kimlik).
