SDF captures two ISIS members in Manbij city

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Special Units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they had arrested two ISIS militants in the northern Syrian city of Manbij with the support of the US-led Coalition.

Supported by the US-led Coalition, the SDF said in a statement, “Our SDF special units have captured two ISIS terrorists in Manbij city who were involved in numerous terrorist attacks.”

The statement identified the two ISIS members as Majed Muhammad al-Muhammad al-Hilal and Hussein Hassan al-Sharif, both joined ISIS in 2016.

According to the SDF, al-Hilal worked in the “fortifications battalion and later in the medical office of ISIS.”

The other member, al-Sharif, worked in the extremist group’s Zakat (tax) office. The SDF also noted that al-Sharif fled Manbij after the Manbij Military Council, affiliated with the SDF, liberated the city from ISIS and had been operating secretly until he was captured.
