Syria’s Manbij Military Council announces killing of 3 fighters in blast

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Late on Sunday, the Military Council of the city of Manbij, northern Syria, announced three of its fighters were killed in a mine explosion in their vehicle.

The Manbij Military Council (MMC), affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said in a statement on its official website that each of “Haytham Muhammad Ato” known as “Abu Dahham,” a founder of the MMC, “Hassan Muhammad Nour Khafour” and Saleh Muhammad Rabei” were subjected to an attack by a mine explosion.

As a result, the three were killed, according to the statement.

Yesterday at noon, a mine exploded in a Jeep vehicle on Aleppo-Manbij road, resulting in the killing of the three aforementioned people.

However, the MMC has not pointed the figure of accusation to any party to be behind the attack.

On August 15, 2016, the MMC and the SDF, with the support of the US-led Global Coalition, expelled Islamic State (ISIS) from Manbij.

Residents of Manbij voice worry of a new war to erupt due to increasing threats by Turkey to attack northern Syria.
