Asayish arrest ISIS leader in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) arrested a leader of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Asayish said, “Our special forces H.A.T, with support and participation from the international coalition, have arrested an ISIS leader in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.”

They added that their forces were able to carry out the preemptive security operation with the support of the US-led Coalition in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 9.

The Asayish also noted that weapons and communication devices were seized from the arrested leader, and that the operation was carried out with precision without any injuries among their forces.
