5 people injured by Turkish border guards in Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, five people including a woman and her child were shot by Turkish border guards while attempting to cross into Turkish territory from the town of Mabrouka in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northern Hasakah.

A local source told North Press that “the Turkish border guards targeted a group of civilians attempting to cross into Turkey from the opposite side at the village of Mabrouka in the countryside of Sere Kaniye.”

The source added that “the shooting resulted in the injury of five people, including a woman named Huda al-Khasham and her seven-year-old child, as well as two young men from the countryside of Manbij. All were transported to a hospital in Sere Kaniye.”

The source also noted that one of the injured individuals, a man named Fawaz al-Alosh from the western countryside of Raqqa, was detained by the Turkish border guards, and that this health status is currently unknown.
