Former government soldier killed in Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A former soldier of Syrian government forces was killed on Saturday in the city of Sanamayn in northern Daraa.

A local source told North Press that unknown gunmen opened fire directly at Youssef al-Labbad, nicknamed Youssef al-Kheiriya, in the city center before fleeing the scene.

The source added that al-Labbad was hit by several bullets and was rushed to the Sanamayn National Hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds before reaching the hospital.

The source pointed out that “al-Labbad had worked with a group affiliated with the Military Security branch of government forces in Daraa and was recently accused of working for the State Security branch.”

According to the source, his brothers, Muhammad Ahmad al-Labbad, nicknamed Ghleis, and Bassel Ahmad al-Labbad, nicknamed Tahaboush, were killed earlier by unknown gunmen after being accused of collaborating with the government forces.
