Two killed, three wounded of government forces in northern Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Two Syrian government soldiers were killed and three others were wounded on Monday after their military vehicle was targeted in northern Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that “government soldiers Muhayeb Sobhi Salmoon and Bashar Suleiman were killed, and three others were wounded after a military armored vehicle belonging to the government State Security branch was targeted with an explosive device on the road between the towns of al-Harra and Zamreen in northern Daraa.”

The source added that all the wounded were transported to the military hospital in al-Sanamayn city, where two of them died while three others are still receiving treatment.

The government forces sent reinforcements to the scene and set up a temporary checkpoint to inspect vehicles and interrogate some of the residents in search of the perpetrators.

The source pointed out that Salmoon is from Homs Governorate and that he had worked within the ranks of the State Security branch in Daraa Governorate. North Press could not obtain further information.

Earlier today, another government soldier was killed after being targeted by unknown gunmen in the city of Nawa in western Daraa.
