North Press records 34 Turkish drone strikes on north Syria in 2023

QAMISHLI,  Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, North Press Agency documented the outcome of Turkish drone strikes on northeastern Syria since the beginning of 2023.

The Monitoring and Documentation Department at North Press reported that Turkey targeted areas in northern Syria with 34 drone attacks, killing 44 people and wounding 27 others.

Among the victims were 28 members of the Syrian  Democratic Forces (SDF), 17 of the Syrian government forces, four Russian soldiers, and 22 civilians, including six women and two children.

The department reported that these attacks were distributed in several areas in northern Syria: 13 sites in the northern countryside of Aleppo, four in Hasakah, one in Raqqa, and six in Qamishli.

The strikes also hit four sites in Kobani, four in Manbij, one in the city of Derik (al-Malikiyah), and one in Ain Issa.

In January, nine drones hit several targets in northern Syria, and in February there were three attacks.

April witnessed only two attacks while May recorded five, but the largest number was documented in June, with 15 strikes to date.
