One killed, three injured by Turkish border guards in Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – A young man was killed and three others were wounded by Turkish border guards at dawn on Thursday while they were trying to cross the border into Turkey, above the border wall, from the western countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), north of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

Sources from the Civil Police in Sere Kaniye, affiliated with the Turkish backed Syrian National Army (SNA), said that Turkish border guards opened fire on a group of civilians while they were trying to cross the border from Tel Halaf, west of Sere Kaniye, at around 2 am. As a result, young man named Abdul Karim Khoja was killed and three others were wounded.

He added that the locals were able to drag the injured and transport them in their cars to the Ras al-Ain Hospital.

In mid-June, a woman and a young man were shot by Turkish border guards for the same reason in the countryside of Ras al-Ain.
