{"id":99771,"date":"2023-06-18T12:41:04","date_gmt":"2023-06-18T12:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=99771"},"modified":"2023-06-18T12:41:06","modified_gmt":"2023-06-18T12:41:06","slug":"alouk-station-water-in-ne-syria-reaches-tel-tamr-after-2-week-cut-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/99771\/","title":{"rendered":"Alouk station water in NE Syria reaches Tel Tamr after 2 week cut-off"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Drinking water pumped from Alouk water station in the countryside of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) reached the town of Tel Tamr in the north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">North Press correspondent reported that water reached on Sunday noon at exactly 12 to residents&#8217; houses with good pumping power after over two weeks long cut-off despite the station being operative since early June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The people of the town of Tel Tamr complained about the delay in pumping water to houses despite it being available as it passes through the town to the city of Hasakah.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/76400\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tel Tamr<\/a> is located in north of Hasakah on the Hasakah-Sere Kaniye road. The main drinking water line that originates in Alouk station and feeds the city of Hasakah passes through Tel Tamr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alouk water station witnessed frequent cut-offs by the Turkish army following its occupation in a military operation in October 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2019, Turkey and their affiliated Syrian opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), have cut off water coming from the station to Hasakah and its countryside more than 30 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2019, the Turkish forces and the SNA factions launched the so-called \u201cPeace Spring\u201d military operation where it occupied Ras al-Ain and its countryside.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 3, Alouk station resumed operation after an agreement, mediated by UNICEF, was reached that required the AANES to supply areas under the occupation of the Turkish-backed SNA with electricity in return for pumping drinking water from the station to the city of Hasakah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Samer Yassin<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Drinking water pumped from Alouk water station in the countryside of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) reached the town of Tel Tamr in the north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, on Sunday.
