QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Thursday, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the EU will maintain its sanctions on the Syrian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borrell, whose remarks<\/a> came during a press conference on the sidelines of the Brussels 7th<\/sup> Conference on Syria, said, \u201cWe will not re-establish full diplomatic relations with the Assad regime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the EU will not \u201cstart working on reconstruction, until a genuine and comprehensive political transition is firmly under way \u2013 which is not the case.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
