{"id":99468,"date":"2023-06-13T12:51:54","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T12:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=99468"},"modified":"2023-06-13T12:51:56","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T12:51:56","slug":"rukban-camp-civil-board-calls-on-ngos-to-support-idps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/99468\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Rukban camp civil board calls on NGOs to support IDPs<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RUKBAN, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Monday, the Civil Affairs Board in Rukban camp, located on the Syrian-Jordanian border, called on humanitarian organizations to better the living and health conditions in the camp which has been under a ten-year embargo imposed by Syrian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People in Rukban camp, around 8,000, have suffered from a severe embargo since 2018. The government forces prevented international organizations from accessing the camp under the pretext of lack of security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Board held a regular meeting where it discussed the deteriorating living conditions of IDPs in the camp and the spread of diseases in summer, as well as how to overcome problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The participants demanded that humanitarian organizations support the camp with generic medicines, especially antidotes for scorpion and snake bites, since the camp is located in a desert area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In late May, a team of the board went to al-Tanaf border crossing located on Damascus\u2013Baghdad road, to call for the opening of the crossing to residents of the camp who are suffering from dire living conditions as a result of the blockade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Muhammad al-Homsi<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUKBAN, Syria (North Press) \u2013 On Monday, the Civil Affairs Board in Rukban camp, located on the Syrian-Jordanian border, called on humanitarian organizations to better the living and health conditions in the camp which has been under a ten-year embargo imposed by Syrian government.
