DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The Energy and Communication Directorate of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, in cooperation with US Agency for International Development (USAID), worked on improving the internet network in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USAID and the Energy and Communication Directorate will increase the number of Wi-Fi towers in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents of Deir ez-Zor, especially in the eastern countryside, complain about poor broadband internet and problems resulting from far-away wireless transmission towers, according to owners of internet network shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yasser al-Issa, head of the communication department in Deir ez-Zor, said that the launched project aimed at improving the internet service and making it available in the eastern countryside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Issa added that the project is supported by USAID, “Wi-Fi towers will be placed in several areas, including al-Busayrah, Abu Hamam, and Hajin.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AANES was first formed in 2014 in the Kurdish-majority regions of Afrin, Kobani and Jazira in northern Syria following the withdrawal of the government forces. Later, it was expanded to Manbij, Tabqa, Raqqa, Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) defeated ISIS militarily there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
