QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>A US official operating with the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Syria and Iraq warned on Friday of the deterioration of relations s between Kurds of Syria and those of Iraq a day after the closure of Semalka-Faysh Khabur border crossing between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) closed the Semalka-Faysh Kahbur border crossing until further notice without giving details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KRG set a week for foreign residencies bearers to leave northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Semalka-Faysh Kahbur border crossing links the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) with those of the KRI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US official, who preferred to stay unnamed, tried to mediate between the two parties in an attempt to reopen the crossing, but to no vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official warned of the deterioration of the intra-Kurdish relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted that this time is different from previous closures, “if this condition is not solved soon, this threatens with a catastrophe between the two parties leading to dangerous levels.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Semalka border crossing administration on the Syrian part said late on Thursday in a statement that the crossing is open from its part because it is a “humanitarian border.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite failure, the US official expressed readiness to mediate again between the two parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
