{"id":94486,"date":"2023-03-09T18:40:38","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T18:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=94486"},"modified":"2023-03-09T18:42:42","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T18:42:42","slug":"syrias-central-bank-raises-exchange-rate-to-7-200-syp-to-usd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/94486\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria\u2019s Central Bank raises exchange rate to 7.200 SYP to USD"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Thursday, Syria\u2019s Central Bank raised the US dollar exchange rate against the Syrian pound from 7.100 to 7.200 SYP, edging close to the black market rate, which is 7.500 SYP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Central Bank raised the exchange rate of the US dollar in the March 9 bulletin to the highest number in its history, in an attempt to control the currency exchange operations in the black market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bank also raised the euro exchange rate and set it at 7.928 SYP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Hasakah Governorate, the exchange rate witnessed a notable spike; the exchange rate of one US dollar reached 7,500 SYP. As for the euro, it went up to 7,900 SYP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An owner of a currency exchange shop in the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria, told North Press that \u201cthe currency exchange market is witnessing a state of instability.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Fadel
