{"id":92639,"date":"2023-02-10T17:00:44","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T17:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=92639"},"modified":"2023-02-10T17:00:46","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T17:00:46","slug":"kri-sends-aid-convoy-to-earthquake-affected-aleppo-countryside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/92639\/","title":{"rendered":"KRI sends aid convoy to earthquake-affected Aleppo countryside"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Friday, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) sent an aid convoy through the Bab al-Salameh border crossing to areas held by the Syrian opposition factions in the northern countryside of Aleppo affected by the earthquakes that hit Syria and Turkey on Feb. 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local source told North Press, &#8220;The convoy consists of 14 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid and entered through the Bab al-Salameh border crossing with Turkey north of Aleppo.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source added that the convoy headed to the opposition-held areas in northern Aleppo to provide the earthquake-affected people with aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It noted that another convoy of humanitarian aid, and a rescue and search team provided by Saudi Arabia landed in an airport in Turkey&#8217;s Gaziantep, and it will have access to northwest Syria in the coming hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, president of the Interim Government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, refused to allow entry of humanitarian aid coming from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) through crossings like Umm Jloud in the countryside of Manbij east of Aleppo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed and wounded 4.980 people in northwest Syria in a provisional count, rescue and search operations for survivors are still continuing in many areas in the countryside of Afrin and Idlib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of victims of the earthquake has risen to 3.642 in the Syrian government areas, including 1.347 deaths and 2.295 injuries as a recent toll by the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Farouq Hamo<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 On Friday, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) sent an aid convoy through the Bab al-Salameh border crossing to areas held by the Syrian opposition factions in the northern countryside of Aleppo affected by the earthquakes that hit Syria and Turkey on Feb. 6.
