{"id":90552,"date":"2023-01-10T15:28:08","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T15:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=90552"},"modified":"2023-01-10T15:28:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T15:28:10","slug":"25-government-soldiers-killed-wounded-in-hts-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/90552\/","title":{"rendered":"25 government soldiers killed, wounded in HTS attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>A military source affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) revealed on Tuesday that the group carried out an infiltration operation against Syrian government forces under the slogan &#8216;We will not reconcile&#8217; \u2013 a response to recent normalization efforts between Ankara and Damascus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, HTS&#8217; leader, described the normalization as <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/90038\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201ca reward for the Syrian regime.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source stressed that the operation, which was carried out in Aleppo Governorate, was a practical rejection of that process. Al-Jolani himself stressed that his group has prepared itself for \u201chard coming days,\u201d without further clarification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the operation, which resulted in clashes between the two parties, 25 government soldiers were killed and wounded in the town of Basratun, west of Aleppo, the same source claimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HTS furthermore took control over a number of government positions. These clashes are the worst flare up of violence between the two parties in the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian government has yet to release any information
