DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Tuesday, Health Committee in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) recorded 184 infections and three deaths of cholera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam al-Awad, co-chair of the Health Committee in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council told North Press, \u201cCholera has immensely spread in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor as a result of water contamination.”  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said that the 184 cases were transferred to al-Kasra Hospital, west of Deir ez-Zor, adding, “All of them tested positive.”  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Euphrates River has become spots of quagmires which led to water contamination after water levels reached unprecedented recession, dubbed by locals, as \u201ccatastrophic,\u201d due to reduction of water by Turkey, according to reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam called on world organizations and NGOs running health sector to provide the Health Committee with medicines especially chlorine to curb the pandemic.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n
