{"id":82604,"date":"2022-08-24T11:45:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-24T11:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=82604"},"modified":"2022-08-24T11:46:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-24T11:46:53","slug":"turkish-shelling-of-bazaar-claims-lives-of-two-in-aleppo-countryside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/82604\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkish shelling of bazaar claims lives of two in Aleppo countryside"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Wednesday, Turkish forces targeted a popular market in the center of the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo Governorate, resulting in civilian casualties including children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An eyewitness told North Press that the Turkish forces targeted a site in the center of a bazaar that is 25 kilometers from Tel Rifaat roundabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A medical source in Tel Rifaat Hospital said two lost their lives and seven others were wounded in the shelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So far, no information has been reported on the wounded conditions, as some sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), continue targeting areas crowded with civilians in Aleppo northern countryside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The town of Tel Rifaat, 35 km north of Aleppo city, has been a shelter for Afrin displaced people since 2018 following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside which resulted in the displacement of about 300.000 of the original inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkey has escalated its attacks on areas in north and northeast Syria, using artillery and drones following Tehran Summit, in which Turkey failed to obtain a green light by Iran and Russia to invade the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkey\u2019s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria.
