Kuntz II announced the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith today\u2019s sentence, Khusanov is punished for providing blood money to support violent jihad in Syria and Iraq,\u201d said United States Attorney Peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Khusanov, with seven defendants, was convicted and sentenced in two charges related to conspiracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In October 2021 he admitted to the charges against him, and he will be deported to his native country when he completes his sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the court\u2018s files, in 2014 and 2015, Khusanov was a member of a network that raised funds to individuals want to travel to Syria to join and fight with ISIS and al-Nusra Front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also encouraged people to travel to Syria to wage violent jihad, or holy war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/81199\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">On July 29,<\/a> the US Department of Justice sentenced the most prolific propagandists during the ISIS\u2019 surge Mohammad Khalifa to life imprisonment for &#8220;conspiring to provide material support to the designated foreign terrorist organization, resulting in death.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Shella Abdulhalim<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 On Thursday, the&nbsp; federal court in Brooklyn, United States District sentenced Dilshod Khusanov, an Uzbekistan citizen lives in Chicago, to 11 years of imprisonment for charges of providing material support to the Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Nusra Front.
