{"id":81068,"date":"2022-07-26T20:45:30","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T20:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=81068"},"modified":"2022-07-26T20:45:31","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T20:45:31","slug":"raiding-the-headquarters-of-raji-falhout-armed-group-in-the-town-of-slim-north-press","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/81068\/","title":{"rendered":"10 killed in clashes between government, locals in Syria\u2019s Suwayda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suwayda, Syria (North Press)<\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>Ten residents of Suwayda, southwest Syria, were killed on Tuesday evening in clashes between local armed factions and an armed group affiliated with the Syrian government\u2019s Military Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier on Tuesday, Residents and local armed factions in Suwayda raided the headquarters of the Raji Falhout group, affiliated with the Military Intelligence, in the towns of Slim and Atil, north of Suwayda Governorate, after the latter kidnapped a number of the governorate\u2019s residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local source told North Press that \u201cMo\u2019taz al-Taweel, Samer Makarim, Ra\u2019fat Khaddaj and Nour-Eddin Khaddaj were killed in the clashes that ensued the raiding of the Falhout group\u2019s headquarters in the town of Slim.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In turn, the clashes also resulted in killing \u201csix members of the Falhout group,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the clashes, the headquarters in Slim fell in the hands of the local factions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe local factions moved to the vicinity of Atil to take control of the Falhout group\u2019s headquarters in that village too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that \u201cShahba Hospital requested doctors and nurses due to the high number of injuries it receives, and the lack of sufficient medical staff in the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presidency of the spiritual body of the Druze community in Suwayda, headed by Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri, \u201ccalled through loudspeakers in the town of Qanawat, encouraging the residents of Suwayda to mobilize and confront the armed group led by Raji Falhout.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since Saturday, Suwayda has been witnessing a state of unrest amid continuous protests against violations by armed groups affiliated with the government\u2019s Military Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Razan Zeinaddin<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ten people were killed in #Syria\u2019s #Suwayda in clashes between local factions and a government-affiliated armed group, after the latter kidnapped some of the governorate\u2019s residents. #Druze <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":81069,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-81068","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
