{"id":80548,"date":"2022-07-18T08:29:13","date_gmt":"2022-07-18T08:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=80548"},"modified":"2022-07-18T08:29:14","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T08:29:14","slug":"turkey-shells-village-in-north-syrias-manbij-causing-material-damage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/80548\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkey shells village in north Syria\u2019s Manbij causing material damage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Turkish forces targeted on Monday the village of al-Muhsinli, north of the city of Manbij in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo Governorate, northern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The media center of Manbij Military Council (MMC), affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), posted that the Turkish forces randomly shelled the populated village of al-Muhsinli with nine mortar and artillery shells, resulting in material damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Turkish shelling coincides with military reinforcements of the Syrian government forces in Manbij.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reinforcements come following an understanding between the SDF and the Syrian government forces to deploy Syrian soldiers on the border with Turkey to avoid any potential Turkish invasion of northern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkey\u2019s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On July 1, Erdogan said that Ankara\u2019s new military operation in northern Syria could begin at any moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Russian forces also established a stationing post in al-Hussan village, northeast of <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/78600\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manbij<\/a>, near the front lines in al-Hoshariya village.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF liberated Manbij from ISIS rule in 2016, and the city is now under the control of the SDF-aligned Manbij Military Council (MMC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Saddam al-Hassan <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Turkish forces targeted on Monday the village of al-Muhsinli, north of the city of Manbij in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo Governorate, northern Syria.
