{"id":79508,"date":"2022-06-25T09:52:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T09:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=79508"},"modified":"2022-06-25T09:52:09","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T09:52:09","slug":"jordan-continues-to-thwart-drug-smugglings-coming-from-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/79508\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan continues to thwart drug smugglings coming from Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Jordanian army thwarted on Friday an attempt to smuggle drugs from Syria to Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The General Command of Jordanian Armed Forces \u2013 Arab Army Command said in a statement that the operation is a continuation for the efforts made by the Jordan Armed Forces in maintaining local and regional security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The amount of drugs seized was 716.000 Captagon pills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jordan News Agency Petra quoted a military source as saying, &#8220;In coordination with Jordan International Security Services and International Narcotics Control Board, the border guards dealt with armed groups that were pursuing smuggling in a professional manner and led by organizations backed by external parties.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement did not mention any extra details about the abovementioned groups or the external parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those groups tried to cross the Syrian-Jordanian border illegally, according to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jordanian army announced that since the beginning of 2022, they have thwarted many infiltration and smuggling attempts on the Syrian-Jordanian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May 22, four people were killed and others were wounded in <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/77977\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a smuggling attempt<\/a> from Syria to Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Hozan Zubeir<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) \u2013 Jordanian army thwarted on Friday an attempt to smuggle drugs from Syria to Jordan.
