ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Iraq called on Tuesday the international community to cancel Hawl Camp in northeastern Syria, given the danger it poses on the region and world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The request came by Iraq’s National Security Adviser, Qassem al-Araji during a meeting with a European delegation headed by Nathalie Loiseau, chair of the sub-committee on Security and Defense in the European Parliament, and with the presence of Ville Varjola, ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Araji called on countries to take their ISIS nationals from the Hawl camp because of the threat they pose to the region and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are about 8,000 Iraqi families in Hawl Camp, comprising more than 30,000 individuals out of more than 56,000 in the camp, according to the latest official statistics obtained from the camp management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 11, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein revealed during the ministerial meeting of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh that \u201cabout 500 Iraqi families were transferred from Hawl Camp to al-Jada’a camp in Nineveh Governorate, most of whom were women and children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES<\/a>) is concerned about the Hawl dilemma and always stresses the need for the foreign countries to repatriate their nationals of the family members of ISIS from the camps in northeast Syria warning of the risk of keeping children in tough conditions receiving radical ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
