{"id":72854,"date":"2022-02-16T16:25:30","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T16:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=72854"},"modified":"2022-02-16T16:25:30","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T16:25:30","slug":"sdf-kills-isis-leader-and-arrests-another-in-syrias-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/72854\/","title":{"rendered":"SDF kills ISIS leader and arrests another in Syria\u2019s Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> &#8211; An ISIS leader was killed and another was arrested, in two separate operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF said on its Facebook that the Special Forces of SDF killed a \u201cdangerous terrorist\u201d called Abu Hamza Shamiya in a security operation in the village of Jazra al-Milaj, 60 km east of Deir ez-Zor, and arrested Shukri Khalil, the ammunition distributor for ISIS, in the village of Zaghir in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Al-Shamiya had planned and carried out a terrorist attack targeting a point of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council&#8217;s forces in the village of al-Zar in eastern Deir ez-Zor on February 10, in which five SDF fighters lost their lives,&#8221; SDF said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Al-Shamiya was one of the most dangerous terrorists of ISIS in the Deir ez-Zor region, and was responsible for preparing terrorist plans and operations in the region, which targeted our fighters, dignitaries and tribal sheikhs in the region during the last period,&#8221; according to SDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to SDF, they seized large quantities of ammunition and narcotics that Khalil had when he was arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing an increase in cases of killing of SDF members, the &nbsp;employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal notables and civilians, most of which have been claimed by ISIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, SDF has intensified its security operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor to pursue ISIS sleeper cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two weeks ago, the SDF-affiliated Hajin Military Council announced the arrest of five members of ISIS sleeper cells in the town of Thiban in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reporting-by-omar-alloush\"><strong>Reporting by Omar Alloush<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#SDF killed a dangerous #ISIS leader in #Syria\u2019s #Deir_ez-Zor and arrested another dangerous one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":72855,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-72854","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
