{"id":72484,"date":"2022-02-10T14:50:22","date_gmt":"2022-02-10T14:50:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=72484"},"modified":"2022-02-10T14:50:23","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T14:50:23","slug":"member-of-settlement-committee-injured-in-syrias-daraa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/72484\/","title":{"rendered":"Member of settlement committee injured in Syria\u2019s Daraa \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Thursday, anonymous gunmen targeted Mos\u2019ab al-Bardan, an opponent figure, and two of his escorts in Atman town in the central countryside of Daraa city, south Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Bardan is also a member of the Central Committee tasked to negotiate with the Syrian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-10-at-1.24.52-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-72487\" srcset=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-10-at-1.24.52-PM-1.jpeg 720w, https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-10-at-1.24.52-PM-1-300x200.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Mos\u2019ab al-Bardan in the sports field<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anonymous people driving motorcycles fired bullets at al-Bardan\u2019s vehicle while he and two of his companions were heading to Atman, a local source told North Press.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Bardan was seriously injured and was hospitalized. One of the companions was killed and the other survived. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Bardan hails from Tafas town in the western countryside of Daraa. He is the most prominent football referee in Daraa and also a former leader of a Syrian opposition faction. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the Syrian government controlled Daraa, al-Bardan along with multiple dignitaries from the area set up the Central Committee tasked to negotiate with the Syrian government and the Russian forces.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Martyr Documentation Office, a local non-governmental organization that follows up the statistics of casualties and detainees in Daraa, documented 1,084 assassination attempts that killed 685 people, whether civilians, former fighters of the Syrian armed opposition factions who had settled their status or fighters of the Syrian government forces between the summer of 2018 and last September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the second settlement process in October 2021, the Martyr Documentation Office has documented 55 assassination attempts that claimed the lives of 38 persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reporting-by-mo-ayed-al-ashqar\"><strong>Reporting by Mo\u2019ayed al-Ashqar&nbsp; <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Opponent figure in #Syria\u2019s #Daraa injured by anonymous gunmen. #SNA <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":72485,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-72484","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
