{"id":72352,"date":"2022-02-08T16:49:14","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T16:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=72352"},"modified":"2022-02-08T16:49:16","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T16:49:16","slug":"belarusian-president-denies-sending-troops-to-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/72352\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian president denies sending troops to Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> &#8211; Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday that reports that claim&nbsp;Belorussia&nbsp;plans to send soldiers to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pakistanpoint.com\/en\/tag\/syria.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Syria<\/a>&nbsp;are fake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 7, the Belarusian News Agency reported that a draft agreement between Russia and its ally Belarus says that the Belarusian troops will work to provide \u201chumanitarian assistance\u201d to the population outside combat zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe news that claimed&nbsp;Belorussia&nbsp;plans to send soldiers to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pakistanpoint.com\/en\/tag\/syria.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Syria<\/a>&nbsp;are fake and groundless,\u201d the Belarusian News Agency quoted President Lukashenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI haven&#8217;t sent anyone there,\u201d Lukashenko said on Tuesday, adding that Syria had asked for humanitarian assistance and he discussed sending military medics there at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The document, which is yet to be signed by the countries\u2019 foreign and defense ministries, states that Belarusian troops will act under operational control of the Russian military in Syria when deployed to the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent weeks, Russia has moved troops from Siberia and the Far East to Belarus for sweeping joint drills.
