{"id":71244,"date":"2022-01-23T18:31:28","date_gmt":"2022-01-23T18:31:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=71244"},"modified":"2022-01-23T18:31:32","modified_gmt":"2022-01-23T18:31:32","slug":"cautious-calm-prevails-vicinity-of-al-sinaa-prison-in-syrias-hasakah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/71244\/","title":{"rendered":"Cautious calm prevails vicinity of al-Sinaa prison in Syria&#8217;s Hasakah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The vicinity of al-Sina&#8217;a Prison in Guweiran neighborhood, south Hasakah, northeast Syria, has been witnessing cautious calm for hours, accompanied by some bursts of bullets from time to time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The calm comes in tandem with the flight of the Global Coalition aircrafts over the area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since January 20, the city of Hasakah has been witnessing sporadic clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) alongside the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) with support of the US-led Global Coalition, and the cells of the Islamic State (ISIS), in the vicinity of al-Sina\u2019a Prison in the Guweiran neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The clashes began after ISIS sleeper cells militants attacked the prison, which houses thousands of ISIS members, coinciding with three explosions in an attempt to take out ISIS prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through loudspeakers, the SDF continues to call out to the militants of the organization in al-Sina\u2019a prison to lay down their weapons and go out to the main gate of the prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the SDF announced yesterday that it managed to retake the control of several points on the northern side of the prison fence, it did not specify a period of time to fully regain control over the situation in the prison and the surrounding houses that have been witnessing over the past two days a movement of displacement. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF attributed this to the fact that ISIS members use civilians as human shields, which impedes the advance of their forces to end the chaotic security situation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Qays al-Abdullah<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The security situation is still going on in #Syria&#8217;s #Hasakah amid few hours of cautious calm. @cmoc_sdf @coalition #ISIS <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":71245,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[39,7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-71244","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
