{"id":71175,"date":"2022-01-22T20:49:57","date_gmt":"2022-01-22T20:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=71175"},"modified":"2022-01-22T20:50:04","modified_gmt":"2022-01-22T20:50:04","slug":"areas-of-de-escalation-zone-in-syrias-northwest-witness-mutual-shelling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/71175\/","title":{"rendered":"Areas of de-escalation zone in Syria&#8217;s northwest witness mutual shelling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IDLIB, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Different areas in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed, on Saturday, persistent mutual shelling between Syrian opposition factions and the Syrian government forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government forces targeted the opposition sites in the villages and towns of Fatterah, Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen , Kansafra, Fleifel, and Ruweiha in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, military sources of the opposition told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the opposition sites in the villages of San and Mjdlya in Jabal al-Arba\u2019in, southeast Idlib, witnessed a similar shelling by the government forces station in Saraqib city, east of Idlib, according to the same sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government forces also targeted posts of the opposition factions in the villages of Khirbat al-Naqus and al-Enkawi in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama, and villages of Kafr Nouran and Tuqad, west of Aleppo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Syrian opposition factions announced the targeting of the government forces&#8217; positions in the town of Kafr Halab, west of Aleppo, with mortars and they artillery shelled the government forces&#8217; sites in Ruweiha, south of Idlib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian drones over the targeted areas, while Russian aircrafts hovered over Idlib reporting no airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For months, areas in Syria\u2019s northwest have been witnessing mutual shelling between parties to the conflict in different areas amid news on government military reinforcements to different areas in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Bara\u2019 al-Shami<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Areas in de-escalation zone in #Syria&#8217;s northwest witnessed mutual shelling between government forces and opposition factions coinciding with intensive flight by Russian drones. #Russia #SNA #Turkey<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":71176,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-71175","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
