{"id":71059,"date":"2022-01-20T21:40:44","date_gmt":"2022-01-20T21:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=71059"},"modified":"2022-01-20T21:40:51","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T21:40:51","slug":"sdf-asayish-thwart-isis-escape-attempt-from-prison-in-syrias-hasakah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/71059\/","title":{"rendered":"SDF, Asayish thwart ISIS escape attempt from prison in Syria\u2019s Hasakah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), thwarted an attempt escape by ISIS prisoners in al- Sina&#8217;a prison in Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasakah, northeast Syria, Farhad Shami, Director of the SDF Media Center said on Thursday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe insurrection coincided with the explosion of a car bomb near a facility for storing and distributing petroleum products, close to the prison, carried out by ISIS sleeper cells. Clashes then occurred between the Asayish and members of the terrorist organization cells infiltrated from the nearby neighborhoods,\u201d Shami added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of ISIS sleeper cells targeted the guards of al-Sina&#8217;a prison, as a result of which two guards were wounded, North Press correspondent quoted a security source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clashes ensued between the SDF and Asayish on the one hand, and the attackers of ISIS members on the other, resulting in the injury of five people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">North Press correspondent in Hasakah reported that three explosions were heard in the vicinity of the prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sky of the region witnessed an intense flight of the Global Coalition aircraft, during which they fired flare bombs over the industrial prison. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Media Center of the SDF indicated that ISIS detainees burned the blankets and plastic materials inside the dormitories in an attempt to cause chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It added that a number of ISIS cells who attacked the prison from outside the walls fled to the al-Zohour neighborhood near the prison and hid in civilian houses, so that the SDF imposed a security cordon around the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the US Central Command said it was monitoring developments in the al-Sina&#8217;a prison in Hasakah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Hoshang Hassan <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SDF and #Asayish thwart an insurrection attempt by #ISIS militants to escape from a prison in #Hasakah, northeast #Syria. @cmoc_sdf @coalition @OIRSpox @CJTFOIR <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":71060,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-71059","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
