{"id":69675,"date":"2021-12-23T20:18:39","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T20:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=69675"},"modified":"2021-12-23T20:18:45","modified_gmt":"2021-12-23T20:18:45","slug":"pro-government-groups-commander-killed-in-syrias-daraa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/69675\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro-government group\u2019s commander killed in Syria\u2019s Daraa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The commander of a military group affiliated with the Syrian government forces was killed on Thursday evening in the town of Umm al-Mayathen in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot Amir Hamid al-Mahamid and another person who was with him, and ran away, local sources told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Al-Mahamid was wounded and transported to the National Hospital in the city of Daraa where he died,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Al-Mahamid led a group affiliated with the Military Security Service of the government forces in Daraa,&#8221; according to the sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Mahamid had been a member of the opposition factions while controlling the southern Syria before he had his status settled with the government forces in summer of 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similarly, Ala\u2019 al-Aboud, the head of al-Na&#8217;ima Municipality, was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in al-Kashef neighborhood in the center of Daraa city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Ihsan Muhammad<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#Daraa area in southern #Syria witnesses increased cases of killing and assassination<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":69676,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-69675","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
