{"id":69031,"date":"2021-12-11T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-11T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=69031"},"modified":"2021-12-11T18:30:13","modified_gmt":"2021-12-11T18:30:13","slug":"syrian-democratic-opposition-figures-to-meet-in-sweden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/69031\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian democratic opposition figures to meet in Sweden"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Stockholm, the Swedish capital is hosting a two-day consultative meeting this week among Syrian opposition figures and personalities in the presence of a Swedish delegate and other state\u2019s representatives, diplomatic and ambassadors, deputy co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Majdolin Hassan told North Press on Saturday.&nbsp; <strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultative meeting is in the wake of a talk yesterday between the SDC delegate and the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde when they discussed ways to support the Syrian democratic opposition and find a mechanism to reach a road map that could lead to a more comprehensive political process in Syria, SDC\u2019s official website stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDC delegate includes Ilham Ahmad, president of the SDC Executive Committee, Riyad Dirar, SDC co-chair, and Majdolin Hassan, SDC deputy co-chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majdolin Hasan, who is also Secretary of the committee of &#8220;Democratic Figures and Powers&#8221; conference scheduled to convene soon in Stockholm, stated that the meeting with Linde had two goals: &#8220;discussing the humanitarian conditions in northeast Syria, and supporting the Autonomous Administration and infrastructure in the region and the Swedish Foreign Ministry support for the upcoming conference.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Many democratic figures agreed to attend the upcoming conference which has been planned for a year but coronavirus pandemic delayed it,&#8221; Hassan addedd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-background-dim has-custom-content-position is-position-bottom-left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"740\" height=\"500\" class=\"wp-block-cover__image-background wp-image-69033\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/SDC-delegation-with-Ann-Linde.jpeg\" data-object-fit=\"cover\" srcset=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/SDC-delegation-with-Ann-Linde.jpeg 740w, https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/SDC-delegation-with-Ann-Linde-300x203.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/SDC-delegation-with-Ann-Linde-220x150.jpeg 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SDC delegation with Ann Linde<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Olof Palme International Center will support the consultative meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked if the opposition Syrian National Coalition will participate in the consultative meeting or not, Hassan\u2019s reply was that international and regional obligations prevent it from participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Some figures who were formerly in the opposition coalition will participate,&#8221; Hassan noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sweden supports many humanitarian activities in northeast Syria.
