{"id":67609,"date":"2021-11-13T18:23:02","date_gmt":"2021-11-13T18:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=67609"},"modified":"2021-11-13T18:23:16","modified_gmt":"2021-11-13T18:23:16","slug":"16-syrian-government-soldiers-killed-by-isis-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/67609\/","title":{"rendered":"16 Syrian government soldiers killed by ISIS in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Saturday, a leader and 15 other members of Syrian government forces were killed in an armed clash with the Islamic State organization (ISIS) in the Masrab Badia, west of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISIS attacked a military vehicle of the National Defense Forces (NDF) of the Syrian government near the main road in the town of al-Masrab, with machine guns, and killed 16 members, including a senior leader, North Press reported a military source from the government forces in Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Among the dead was Abdussattar al-Sha&#8217;eiti, commander of the Lions of the East Army (Arabic: Usud&nbsp;al-Sharqiya) of the government forces, who came from the town of al-Kishkiyah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor,&#8221; the source, who declined to be named, added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the attack, the government forces brought in large reinforcements to the place of the incident to comb the area after ISIS militants fled into the depths of the desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should be noted that the Iranian-backed militias and the government forces control large areas of the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which have recently witnessed heavy clashes with ISIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This morning, a member of the Iranian-backed Liwa al-Baqir was killed and another was wounded, as a result of a dispute between them, near the entrance to the city of Deir ez-Zor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Omar Abdurrahman<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#ISIS attacked vehicle of government forces west of #Deir_ez_Zor, east #Syria, killing 16 soldiers. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":67610,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[39,7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-67609","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
