QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Friday, fierce infighting erupted among militants of Turkish-backed armed factions themselves on the outskirts of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) city, northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to a dispute over a smuggling post to Turkey, clashes broke out among militants of two factions “al-Mawali clan” and “Abu Sa’id” that are affiliated with the Turkish-backed al-Hamza Division near the silos of the city, a well informed source told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the clashes, which lasted for more than half an hour, two casualties and three wounded of both parties were reported with some of them are critically wounded, according to the same source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, al-Mawali clan announced, on its website, that they managed to capture a number of militants of the other party including the leader of the group known as Abu Sa’id.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, a civilian and seven members<\/a> of Turkish-backed armed opposition factions were wounded during an infighting between gunmen affiliated with the Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction, Liwa al-Khattab and Abu Jihad Qadisiyah in the town of Hamam al-Turkman, 30 km southeast of the city of Tel Abyad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 8, three members of the Turkish-backed armed factions were wounded by gunmen of one of the factions in Tel Abyad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The areas under the control of the Turkish forces and the affiliated armed opposition factions in northeastern Syria have witnessed a state of security chaos amid the inability of the controlling forces to settle security in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed factions have been running Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad since late 2019 following an attack displacing thousands of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
