{"id":67485,"date":"2021-11-10T21:39:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T21:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=67485"},"modified":"2021-11-10T21:39:51","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T21:39:51","slug":"mutual-bombardment-erupted-between-government-forces-opposition-factions-in-syrias-northwest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/67485\/","title":{"rendered":"Mutual bombardment erupted between government forces, opposition factions in Syria&#8217;s northwest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IDLIB, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Wednesday, the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria witnessed a continuation of mutual shelling between Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government forces, stationed in the town of Kafranbel, bombed the sites of the opposition factions in the towns of Kansafra, al-Bara and Benin, south of Idlib, with artillery and missiles, military sources of the opposition told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government forces targeted the factions&#8217; points in the towns of al-Sermaniyah and al-Enkawi in Ghab Plain in the western countryside of Hama with mortar shells, without reports of casualties, the sources added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government forces also bombed the village of Tuqad in the western countryside of Aleppo with heavy artillery shells, according to the same sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian and Iranian drones in the countryside of Idlib, Hama and Aleppo, the sources noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A military source of the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room told North Press that it targeted the positions of the government forces on the Sheikh Aqil axes, west of Aleppo, with missiles and heavy artillery shells. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source added that the factions targeted military points of the government forces in the villages of al-Dar al-Kabira and al-Talhiya south and east of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For months, areas in Syria\u2019s northwest have been witnessing mutual shelling between parties to the conflict in different areas amid news on government military reinforcements to different areas in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Samir Awad<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Government forces and armed opposition factions exchanged shelling in #Idlib countryside, northwest #Syria. #HTS #SNA #SAA #Turkey #Russia  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":67486,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-67485","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
