{"id":67006,"date":"2021-10-31T17:05:56","date_gmt":"2021-10-31T17:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=67006"},"modified":"2021-10-31T17:06:06","modified_gmt":"2021-10-31T17:06:06","slug":"members-of-iranian-backed-factions-killed-wounded-in-syrias-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/67006\/","title":{"rendered":"Members of Iranian-backed factions killed, wounded in Syria&#8217;s Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ<\/strong><strong>&#8211;<\/strong><strong>ZOR<\/strong><strong>, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Sunday, a member of Iranian-backed faction was killed and another wounded in an explosion by unknown persons east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A military source of the Iranian-backed Liwa al-Quds in the town of al-Duwayr, 80 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said unknown persons threw a bomb at two members of the Ninth Regiment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) while they were heading to one of their points on the right bank of the Euphrates River, killing one of them and wounding the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The two members hail from the town of al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and they were in the market to buy foodstuff, but unknown persons stopped them on their way back, threw a bomb on them, and ran away,&#8221; the source, who preferred not to be named, told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source stated, &#8220;the two men were in civilian clothes and were not armed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the eruption of the events in Syria in 2011, Iran has officially announced its support to the Syrian government and sent its militias to support government forces in their war against factions of the Syrian opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran supported and formed military factions, which are working to fulfill Iran\u2019s ambition in Syria, the most prominent of these factions are National Defense Forces (NDF), Liwa Fatemiyoun, Hashemiyoun and Liwa Zainebiyoun. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran continues the process of recruiting Syrian militants within the ranks of factions affiliated with it through attracting them by offers, and extorting the deteriorating economic conditions that Syria is witnessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are about\u00a030 recruiting centers deploying in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, west of the Euphrates River, most of them were houses belonging to residents that were seized by Iranian-backed factions under the pretext that their owners are residing in areas held by either Syrian Democratic Forces or opposition factions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Omar Abdurrahman<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unknown individuals targeted members of Iranian-backed militias in #Deir_ez_Zor, east #Syria, killing one and wounding another. #IRGC #Iran  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":67007,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[39,7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-67006","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
