{"id":66951,"date":"2021-10-30T09:50:49","date_gmt":"2021-10-30T09:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=66951"},"modified":"2021-10-30T09:51:17","modified_gmt":"2021-10-30T09:51:17","slug":"first-russian-warplane-lands-in-syrias-qamishli-international-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/66951\/","title":{"rendered":"First Russian warplane lands in Syria\u2019s Qamishli International Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A Russian warplane landed two days ago, in Qamishli International Airport, northeast Syria, less than 100 km from US military base in the same area, military sources told Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first squadron of Russian warplanes to permanently stay in Qamishli comprised four warplanes increasable in number depending on its technical readiness, the sources added to al-Akhbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The warplanes will join the Russian helicopters base and the Russian Air force System already existing in the vicinity of Qamishli International Airport, according to the newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Russian Air Forces started extending Qamishli International Airport with the purpose to be a new Russian air force military base and the second largest Russian base inside Syria after the Khmeimim air base in Latakia city, on Syria\u2019s coast.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia tries to maintain its presence in the area.
