{"id":66271,"date":"2021-10-17T16:43:25","date_gmt":"2021-10-17T16:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=66271"},"modified":"2021-10-17T16:43:26","modified_gmt":"2021-10-17T16:43:26","slug":"turkish-backed-factions-torture-pregnant-woman-to-death-in-syrias-afrin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/66271\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkish-backed factions torture pregnant woman to death in Syria\u2019s Afrin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>A six-month pregnant woman was tortured to death in a Turkish intelligence center in the city of Afrin, northern Syria, Human Rights Organization- Afrin said on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The woman was arrested in the city center, on October 11 on charges of detonating a car bomb,&#8221; the organization added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week, a <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/66002\/\">car bomb exploded in the city of Afrin<\/a>, leaving 27 people killed and injured.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On its official Facebook account , the Human Rights Organization said that Na\u2019mat Bahjat Sheikho (32), was arrested with her husband, Khalil Na\u2019san&#8221; (36 ), and they were taken to the headquarters of the Turkish intelligence in the Amir al-Ghubari School in the city center.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woman was six months pregnant, and she was beaten and tortured to death hours after her arrest, according to organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Human Rights Organization-Afrin attached its publication with a photo of the woman, who came from the village of Qupeh Hamshelak in Rajo district, in the countryside of Afrin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been run by Turkish forces and the factions affiliated with them since March 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Hoshang Hassan<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkish-backed armed factions tortured a pregnant woman to death in #Syria&#8217;s #Afrin. #Turkey #YPG @ohchr <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":66272,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5,39,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-66271","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-home","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
