{"id":66108,"date":"2021-10-14T09:00:43","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T09:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=66108"},"modified":"2021-10-14T09:38:29","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T09:38:29","slug":"settlements-in-syrias-east-of-daraa-under-completion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/66108\/","title":{"rendered":"Settlements in Syria\u2019s east of Daraa under completion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Security apparatuses of the Syrian government forces continue settlements in the town of al-Jiza, east of Daraa, southern Syria, and the neighboring towns with the approval of the Russian Military Police (MP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, the government forces threatened to bomb the town in the event that they do not hand over their light weapons; However, residents met with the wanted people and they agreed on handing the weapons today, Thursday, and complete the settlements there, according to sources from the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the government security forces are completing the settlement process for a number of wanted people in the <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/66046\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">settlement centers<\/a> that they established at the headquarters of the Baath Party Division in al-Jiza, local sources told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of the towns of al-Jiza and al-Mata\u2019iyah and the villages of Nada and al-Oman, which are on the border strip with Jordan, are included in the settlement, the sources added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, a number of wanted people refused to hand their individual weapons, they noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the government forces conducted a search campaign accompanied by Russian MP and notables in the villages and towns that were subjected to the settlements in conjunction with blocking all routes leading to al-Jiza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The steps of the settlements come as a continuation of the agreement held in early September between the Central Committee and the government forces brokered by Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 5, a number of Daraa\u2019s notables and government forces, in the presence of a number of Russian officers, reached <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/64449\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a ceasefire agreement<\/a>, including handing over weapons and deploying governmental security points in the towns of Daraa governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daraa was subjected to a suffocating siege imposed by Iranian-backed factions and the government forces for more than two months.
