DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Monday, the security services of the government forces in the town of Sayda in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, accompanied by the Russian Military Police (MP), continued the settlement process that includes the town and neighboring ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local sources told North Press that the security services of the government forces are completing, for the second day, the process of settling the status of a number of wanted persons, where the settlement is supposed to end today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 9<\/a>, the settlement of the towns of Sayda, al-Na’ima and Keheil started after a meeting was held between the notables of the towns and the security committee of the government forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow, the government forces will accompany the Russian MP and the towns’ notables in a search campaign in the neighborhoods of the three towns to complete the agreement, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources said that the status of a total of 110 people and 120 soldiers were settled, in addition to handing over a number of light weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These steps come as a continuation of the agreement held in early September between the Central Committee and the government forces brokered by Russia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 5, a number of Daraa\u2019s notables and government forces, in the presence of a number of Russian officers, reached a ceasefire agreement<\/a>, including handing over weapons and deploying governmental security points in the towns of Daraa governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daraa was subjected to a suffocating siege imposed by Iranian-backed factions and the government forces for more than two months. Finally, an agreement was reached between the parties to the conflict brokered by Russia on a ceasefire and the entry of government forces into the besieged neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
