{"id":65783,"date":"2021-10-08T14:21:11","date_gmt":"2021-10-08T14:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=65783"},"modified":"2021-10-08T14:21:12","modified_gmt":"2021-10-08T14:21:12","slug":"government-forces-remove-checkpoints-in-syrias-daraa-countryside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/65783\/","title":{"rendered":"Government forces remove checkpoints in Syria&#8217;s Daraa countryside"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Over the past two days, Syrian government forces removed a number of their military checkpoints north of Daraa, southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, in the presence of Russian Military Police (MP), the government forces removed the checkpoint of the Qita village, south of the town of al-Sanamain in the northern countryside of Daraa, local sources said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, they removed the checkpoints of the market and the Charitable Association in the center of al-Sanamain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday on Thursday, the government forces removed two checkpoints belonging to the Military Security Branch near the town of Jabab, north of Daraa, the sources added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the checkpoint of al-Karton between al-Sanamain and Jabab, and that of al-Hammamat between Jabab and the Damascus-Daraa Highway, were removed, too. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of settlement agreements in Daraa governorate since the beginning of September has reached 12, which included the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad region, and the towns of al-Yadoudah, al-Muzairib, Tafas, Tel Shihab, Da&#8217;el, Ibta&#8217;, Nawa, Jassem, and the villages of the Yarmouk Basin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 5, a number of Daraa\u2019s notables and government forces, in the presence of a number of Russian officers,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/64449\/\">reached a&nbsp;ceasefire agreement<\/a>, including handing over weapons and deploying governmental security points in the towns of Daraa governorate. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daraa was subjected to a suffocating siege imposed by Iranian-backed factions and the government forces for more than two months.
