HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Saturday, the Kurdish Red Crescent (KRC, humanitarian non-profit organization operating in northeast Syria) revealed that the coronavirus infections doubled significantly in September, compared to August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KRC published the coronavirus data for the two months of August and September on its official Facebook.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said that the number of the infections during September amounted to 7,613, while it was 1,991 in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this month, 244 people died as a result of the virus, but the number of deaths in August was only 32, according to KRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the data of the Kurdish Red Crescent, the city of Qamishli recorded 1,901 infections, then Hasakah 1,501, and Derik with 1,077 cases, during September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization urged those infected with Covid-19 to “go to receive medical treatment at an early stage and not to delay it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 30, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) issued a “final appeal to the concerned countries to intervene and cooperate in confronting the virus, as the region is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe<\/a>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Autonomous Administration is not able to tackle the virus alone if the situation remains as it is,” said Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
