{"id":64356,"date":"2021-09-03T11:37:37","date_gmt":"2021-09-03T11:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=64356"},"modified":"2021-09-03T11:37:38","modified_gmt":"2021-09-03T11:37:38","slug":"civilian-wounded-child-killed-in-russian-raid-in-syrias-idlib","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/64356\/","title":{"rendered":"Civilian wounded, child killed in Russian raid in Syria&#8217;s Idlib"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IDLIB, Syria (North Press) &#8211;<\/strong>&nbsp; A civilian was wounded and a child was killed on Friday in Russian air strikes on the southern countryside of Idlib, while Idlib and Hama witnessed continued mutual shelling between Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions and Syrian government forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local sources from the area told North Press that Russian warplanes targeted farmers working in the fig harvest near the town of Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain with airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The raid resulted in the injury of the child Ali al-Brouk and another young man called Youssef al-Najar, from the town of Kansafra, in addition to the death of dozens of sheep. Residents transferred the wounded to local hospitals, where al-Brouk succumbed to his wounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, military sources told North Press that the government forces continued their artillery and missile shelling on the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhun, outskirts of al-Bara and Kansafra, south of Idlib, from their positions at the surrounding checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Hama, government forces stationed in Jorin Camp bombarded with heavy artillery the town of al-Enkawi and the surrounding agricultural lands in Ghab Plain, west of the governorate, without reports of casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and other armed groups, bombed government forces\u2019 positions in the village of Malagah south of Idlib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020; however, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Bara al-Shami \/ Tariq al- Ahmed<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A civilian was wounded and a child was killed in Russian air strikes on the southern countryside of #Syria\u2019s #Idlib, while Idlib and #Hama witnessed continued mutual shelling between Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions and Syrian government forces<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":64357,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-64356","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
