{"id":63966,"date":"2021-08-24T17:53:46","date_gmt":"2021-08-24T17:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=63966"},"modified":"2021-08-24T17:53:47","modified_gmt":"2021-08-24T17:53:47","slug":"syrias-aanes-office-in-geneva-regrets-over-syrian-governments-statements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/63966\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria\u2019s AANES office in Geneva \u201cregrets\u201d over Syrian government\u2019s statements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Tuesday, the representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Geneva, Hikmat Ibrahim, expressed the AANES regret over the statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Expatriates of the Syrian government, which &#8220;condemned&#8221; the opening of the Autonomous Administration&#8217;s office in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier today, the Syrian government called on the Swiss authorities to reconsider the decision to allow the opening of the Autonomous Administration&#8217;s office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Damascus considered the opening of the office as recognition of the &#8220;illegal&#8221; administration, according to an official memo sent to the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an exclusive audio statement to North Press, Ibrahim said that their office was opened to manage the affairs of the Syrians and communicate with international decision-making centers to speed up reaching a solution to the war in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis exclusionary mentality dragged the country to what it is now (..) If the regime continues in this mentality, it will be difficult to achieve any progress towards resolving the crisis,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On August 9, the Autonomous Administration <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/63321\/\">opened a diplomatic office in the city of Geneva<\/a>, Switzerland, which is seventh outside Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian government\u2019s statements came after a statement by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about decentralization, which the president of the Executive Board of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ilham Ahmad, described as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/63775\/\">positive<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On August 14, al-Assad delivered a speech at the swearing-in meeting for the new Syrian government, in which he said that \u201cdecentralization achieves balanced development among the various Syrian regions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AANES representative in Geneva indicated that their project was never separatist, and it was their forces that protected the Syrian borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe regime is evading its national duties towards the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands, and instead of working together to expel the occupiers, it is fighting the Autonomous Administration project,\u201d he noted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before Damascus, Ankara had also condemned the opening of the Autonomous Administration\u2019s office in Geneva, where the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Swiss Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affairs in Turkey hours after the Autonomous Administration announced the opening of its office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Muhammad al-Qadi<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Both #Syria and #Turkey condemned the opening of the #AANES office in #Geneva, #Switzerland.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":63967,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[39,3,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-63966","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-politics","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
