{"id":63045,"date":"2021-08-03T13:07:39","date_gmt":"2021-08-03T13:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=63045"},"modified":"2021-08-03T13:07:40","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T13:07:40","slug":"china-stresses-strong-relations-with-damascus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/63045\/","title":{"rendered":"China stresses strong relations with Damascus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Tuesday, Chinese Ambassador to Syria Feng Biao said that the Syrian-Chinese relations will improve in the upcoming period, describing it as \u201cthe loyal friend relation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This came in an article published by the pro-government <em>al-Wattan<\/em> newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSyria was among the first Arabic countries which exchanged the diplomatic representation with China, and the latter kept supporting the efforts of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in maintaining the national sovereignty and territorial integrity,\u201d Biao added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy country vetoed 10 times in the UN Security Council to suppress the resolutions\u2019 drafts regarding Syria,\u201d he referred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cChina called to push the political process and appealed to the international community to immediately lift all the sanctions and the economic siege imposed on Syria,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biao also referred to the economic relations between both countries saying, \u201cSyria was one of China&#8217;s most important economic and trade cooperation partners in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDespite the American and western countries\u2019 sanctions on Syria, China is still Syria\u2019s most important trade partner,\u201d he indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He mentioned that his country is one of the most biggest countries that is providing help for Syria until today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cChina has provided Damascus with two billion and 40 million yuan of the economic aid in different areas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, it has provided \u201cbig amounts of medical aid, such as vaccines and medical equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biao described the visit of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi to Syria as being \u201csuccessful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYi discussed with al-Assad and his counterpart Faisal Mekdad his country\u2019s vision to solve the Syrian crisis in&nbsp; four points,\u201d Biao clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On July 18, Yi, during his meeting with Mekdad in Damascus, said, \u201cChina has put forward a four-point proposal on solving the Syrian issue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal provides, firstly, Syria&#8217;s national sovereignty and territorial integrity should be respected. China calls for respecting the choice by the Syrian people, abandoning the illusion of a regime change, and letting the Syrian people independently determine the future and destiny of their country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secondly, the well-being of Syrian people should be prioritized and the reconstruction process should be sped up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirdly, a firm stand on effectively fighting terrorism should be upheld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fourthly, an inclusive and reconciliatory political solution to the Syrian issue should be promoted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mekdad said that Syria agrees with China&#8217;s four-point proposal and is willing to further strengthen
