MANBIJ, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>A tribal notable in the city of Manbij, north Syria, said on Tuesday that the Manbij tribes and the families of the dead did not allow the blood of their sons to be turned into strife in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq al-Aseidi, the official spokesman for the notables of Manbij, said that the reconciliation that was held yesterday between the families of the dead and the Civil Administration in Manbij, dropped lawsuits from all parties according to tribal norms in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Outside parties failed to create strife between the tribes and the Autonomous Administration after the events that took place in the city and its countryside for rightful demands, thanks to social cohesion,” he told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early in June, the city of Manbij witnessed protests<\/a> demanding the abolition of the duty of self-defense and the improvement of service and living conditions in the city, but those protests turned into riots and sabotage with the aim of creating strife, according to the city’s civil and military administrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Aseidi considered that the families of the dead realized that continuing the protests in that way “will only benefit foreign agendas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that from day one, the Civil Administration of Manbij responded to the residents’ demands, “but the incitement carried out by some people working for  outside parties worsened the situation and led to the fall of 5 victims and the wounding of others.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holding a number of meetings among the Civil Administration, the families of the victims and the tribal sheikhs resulted in several demands, most notably, satisfying the families of the dead and the accountability of the shooters of the protesters, according to the spokesman for Manbij notables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After submitting the demands, the Civil Administration began implementing them, starting with satisfying the victims\u2019 families, forming a neutral committee to investigate the issue of shooting protesters, and transferring the issue of mandatory service campaigns in Manbij to studying, in addition to making promises to improve the service and living conditions of the residents of Manbij.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
