HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Saturday, the Child Protection Office in northeast Syria\u2019s Hasakah returned 12 minors who joined the military forces, including two girls, to their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Child Protection Office in Armed Conflict was established in all cities in northeast Syria after an agreement signed by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander Mazloum Abdi, along with the United Nations, to prevent the recruitment of children into the SDF and affiliated forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khaled Jabr, co-chair of the Child Protection Office in Hasakah, told North Press that \u201c12 minors were returned to their families by the Syrian Democratic Forces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jabr added, \u201cwe work in accordance with international laws signed between the Autonomous Administration and the United Nations, which do not allow the recruitment of minors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ages of the children returned to their families ranged between 15 and 17, and they came from various cities in northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jabr pointed out that since the establishment of the Child Protection Office in October of last year, the number of children returned to their families reached 70.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
