{"id":61254,"date":"2021-06-22T13:22:14","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T13:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=61254"},"modified":"2021-06-22T13:22:15","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T13:22:15","slug":"catalan-delegation-arrives-in-syrias-northeast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/61254\/","title":{"rendered":"Catalan delegation arrives in Syria\u2019s northeast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Tuesday, a delegation from Catalonia, Spain arrived at the Department of Foreign Relations building in Qamishli, northeast Syria, aiming at analyzing political and social conditions in the region and developing relationships with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation consisted of two members of the Catalan parliament, Eul\u00e0lia Reguant and Ruben Wagensberg, and member of the Barcelona Council Laura Perez, according to the Foreign Relations Department\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of the delegation expressed the will to realize the political and social conditions in northeast Syria in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are here to know the challenges and difficulties that residents in north and east Syria are witnessing, and to know the mechanisms, through which we can help them to ease these difficulties,\u201d Foreign Relations Department\u2019s official website cited one of the visitors as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn our policy, we rely on the societal diplomacy and develop relationships with institutions of civil society including unions, federations, women, youth, intellectuals, and academics\u2019 movements, so we are happy having you here,\u201d the Department co-chair, Abdulkarim Omar said during the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, they discussed the challenges that people in Syria\u2019s north and east are going through including water cutoff by Turkey, the closure of Tel Kocher crossing (al-Yaroubiya) for humanitarian relief, and committed violations by Turkish-backed armed groups against people in Afrin, Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), and Tel Abyad (Gire Spi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Khalaf Ma\u2019o<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A #Catalan delegation including two members of Catalan Parliament and member of the Barcelona Council arrived in northeast #Syria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":61255,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[39,3,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-61254","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-politics","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
