HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The second industrial exhibition of local products continues in the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, on its second day with the participation of local economic and commercial events of the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, the AANES’s Economy Board opened the exhibition which is decided to last for three days in coordination with the AANES’s Union of Chambers of Industry and Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avin Muhammad, a visitor of the exhibition, told North Press that she did not expect the big number of industrial facilities participating in the exhibition and that there are plenty types of food and local products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muhammad believes that supporting the local industries will have a positive effect on the producers and the consumers of the region through avoiding the exploitation of the industrialists and traders of inside and outside Syria and seek to fulfill self-sufficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 60 facilities participated in the exhibition, represented in factories of food, industrial products such as paint factories, hoses manufacturing, clothes, handicrafts and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AANES believes of the necessity of holding such exhibitions to support the industries and local products,  Layla Saroukhan, official at Economy Committee in Hasakah and member of the Preparatory Committee of the exhibition, told North Press. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The goal of this exhibition is to support the local production and enhance the relationships between the traders and industrialists,” Saroukhan said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Marketing local products made in northeast Syria will save time, effort and high costs,” she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, print shop owner Suleiman Shindi told North Press, “we print stamps, flex designs and thermal printing on glasses, stones marble and others.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I participated in the last exhibition and I found out it is a nice event for the country and helps advertising local products,” he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the difficulties that the industrialists and traders face in northeast Syria, Shindi referred to the closure of crossings and the skyrocketing prices of shipping which greatly affect the industrialists and traders.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 14, the industrial exhibition was held in the city of Qamishli and lasted for three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past decades, the Syrian government used to obstruct holding industrial projects in northeast Syria although its planted areas estimate at 30% of the total planted areas in Syria, and is considered the source of food and fuel in the country.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
